Paper Abstract:      The Bologna process that aims to reform the European Higher Education in making it competitive with the trends in the rest of the world and reshaping it for the New Century of the knowledge based society, tends to remake a ‘new’ type of the Institutions of Higher Education [1]. In this pressure of reforms, in the environment of tight budgets and high “costumer” expectations, the universities are engaged in improving the business processes [2]. This immense need for the permanent improvement of the information systems into the universities requires overall and comprehensive efforts to automate the processes. The modular web-based solutions, in automating the different processes are mostly adopted in the US universities and wider. In this paper, through the SEEU1 Case, we are proposing the automation of a particular process - grade submission, from the existing electronic administration facilities as central database, and database application frontend (as a common model of the European universities) to a development and implementation of the modular web-based electronic grade submission system, adaptable for integration into the university information system.
